SENTILLION DRAMATICALLY IMPROVES CLINICIANS'
ABILITY TO ACCESS PATIENT DATA AT CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM;
REDUCES SIGN-ON TIME FROM 81 SECONDS TO 12 SECONDS
ANDOVER, Mass. - January 17, 2006 - Sentillion, Inc., the
leading provider of identity and access management (IAM) solutions
for the always-on healthcare industry, today announced that Christiana
Care Health System (Christiana Care), one of the largest healthcare
providers in the mid-Atlantic region, has successfully implemented
Sentillion's Vergence® product suite, including Authenticator,
SignOn Manager, and Context Manager. As a result of the implementation,
Christiana Care was able to reduce the amount of time it took a
clinician to sign on to and find the same patient in the three most
critical clinical applications from 81 seconds to 12 seconds. This
85 percent reduction in the amount of time it takes to access electronic
records dramatically improved clinician workflow and productivity.
"To ensure optimal productivity, reduce costs and enhance
our ability to deliver the best care possible, it is critical that
the physicians, nurses and other employees have access to the information
they need quickly and easily, from anywhere, at any time,"
said Steve Hess, CIO, Christiana Care. "To meet these objectives,
we selected Sentillion's Vergence IAM solution because of its unique
ability to integrate separate applications together into synchronized
workflows. Following the implementation, we experienced a significant
reduction in the time clinicians spent signing on to multiple applications
and facilitated clinician access to critical patient data, both
of which spurred increased adoption of computerized systems throughout
our facilities."
Christiana Care selected the Vergence solution to provide stronger
authentication, single sign-on and context management for applications
including Cerner Millennium® and Powerchart®, Agfa PACSNet,
Streamline Health accessANYware and MedSeek SiteMaker
portal. The implementation was completed and rolled out to caregivers
in November 2005. Since that time, Christiana Care has seen the
time required for caregivers to sign on to multiple applications
and access patient data reduced from 81 seconds to 12 seconds per
person, per session. The decreased sign-on and patient search time
has led to significant productivity gains for Christiana Care, measured
at more than 2,700 hours of clinician time annually.
A key component of the Christiana Care project was the ability
for Sentillion's single sign-on and context management technology
to be integrated with a new, role-based portal system that Christiana
Care was rolling out to its physicians, nurses and employees. The
portal, which delivers multiple types of content including Web pages
and applications, has been deployed enterprise-wide. By leveraging
Sentillion's technology, access to information within the portal
is easier and quicker, and has resulted in increased portal usage
and satisfaction by the staff.
"We are proud to work with Christiana Care and provide them
with the technology that enables their clinicians to do what they
do best: deliver top quality care to their patients," said
Robert Seliger, CEO of Sentillion. "Our Vergence solution reflects
Sentillion's commitment to offering technologies that provide an
efficient but controlled approach to the access of patient data."
Sentillion's IAM products help healthcare provider organizations
