NEWTON-WELLESLEY HOSPITAL IMPROVES ACCESS
& WORKFLOW BETWEEN MEDITECH AND MULTIPLE CLINICAL APPLICATIONS
Newton-Wellesley Successfully Deploys Sentillion's single sign-on and Context Management Solutions
ANDOVER, Mass. - May 15, 2006 - Sentillion, Inc., the leading provider
of identity and access management (IAM) solutions for the always-on
healthcare industry, today added to their industry leading total
of 174,000 live users with the announcement that Newton-Wellesley
Hospital has implemented Sentillion's Vergence® single sign-on
and context management solutions to improve caregiver productivity.
Newton-Wellesley Hospital is the premier teaching hospital in Massachusetts
and part of the Partners HealthCare System.
With the implementation of Vergence, Newton-Wellesley Hospital
eliminated multiple passwords for multiple applications along with
the need to search for patient records in each individual application.
Caregivers now have quick access to the information they need, when
they need it. Early measurements indicate that caregivers are spending
up to 30 fewer minutes per day logging into applications because
of Vergence.
"We first selected Sentillion because we were looking for
more than a point solution; we wanted a vendor that could meet our
evolving identity and access management needs," said Margaret
Thomas, CIO, Newton-Wellesley Hospital. "As we went through
the implementation process, we found that not only does Sentillion
have proven technology but they have documented and repeatable processes
for getting customers live, quickly and with ease. Our caregivers
are thrilled with the solution and we are delighted to have a partner
that is committed to the success of our organization."
Newton-Wellesley Hospital selected Sentillion's Vergence SignOn
Manager and Context Manager to provide caregivers with single password
access and seamless workflow between its primary healthcare IT system,
MEDITECH and other applications including Ibex and Fuji Synapse.
Newton-Wellesley now distributes a single password to each user,
administered from a central location, eliminating caregiver frustrations
over having to remember unique passwords for several applications.
Once signed on, the context management solution enables caregivers
to maintain patient context as they switch between the disparate
applications.
"Every emergency department in the country should deploy single
sign-on," said Mark Lemons, MD, Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
"My colleagues and I have to continually log-on to and work
between multiple applications and Sentillion's solution provides
quick and easy access to the information we need to deliver the
best care possible to our patients."
Sentillion's IAM products help healthcare provider organizations
meet their urgent need for patient safety and privacy, streamlined
workflows, regulatory compliance and the protection of data and
information sources. Sentillion's Vergence product suite enables
organizations to know who their users are - identity management
- and to help them be productive while ensuring system security
