ASANTE HEALTH SYSTEM SELECTS SENTILLION FOR SINGLE SIGN-ON
After A Rigorous Vendor Analysis, Sentillion Selected for Its Proven Ability to
Integrate All Types of Applications Quickly and Easily at a Competitive Cost of Ownership
ANDOVER, Mass. - January 11, 2007 - After demonstrating that its single sign-on (SSO)
solution can integrate quickly and easily with all types of applications and, most
importantly, can do so at a competitive price, Sentillion today announced that it has
been awarded a contract with Asante Health System (Asante), an award-winning healthcare
organization in southern Oregon, which operates one of the nation's top cardiovascular
facilities.
Asante thoroughly reviewed several SSO vendors in search of a solution that would
help eliminate the burden of multiple passwords and improve physician satisfaction with
its Siemens Soarian® solution and other clinical applications. The selection process, initiated
by the release of a request for proposals, culminated in both a thorough on-site proof-of-concept
evaluation and a two-day clinical evaluation of offerings from several different vendors.
Part of the proof-of-concept implementation involved a session with Asante's IT organization
to integrate Siemens and applications developed internally into each vendor's SSO offering.
Using Sentillion's BridgeBuilder product, even non-technical users were able to integrate applications
into the Sentillion single sign-on environment as part of the evaluation process.
In addition, Asante's selection team studied other aspects of each vendor's
current implementations and their technology, and conducted numerous reference
calls with existing customers.
"In the end, it came down to two vendors.
Sentillion finally won us over with their ease of integration, very positive
customer references, and the value delivered in their fixed price implementation," said
Mark Hetz, CIO, Asante Health System. "Our IT people were quite impressed with
Sentillion's architecture, security, and deployment methods, and the fact that their
solution included all the services required for our go-live event made them very
competitive from a total cost standpoint. Lastly, we liked that Sentillion offers a
comprehensive suite of identity management products and that in the future we could source
additional solutions such as user provisioning from one vendor."
Asante will begin rolling out the SSO solution to 3,000 clinical users
across its healthcare facilities within the next few weeks.
