SENTILLION SETS HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY MILESTONE WITH 221,000 CAREGIVERS LIVE ON ITS SINGLE SIGN-ON SOLUTION
Company Introduces New Product Features & Functionality to Help Facilitate Caregiver Adoption
ANDOVER, Mass. - February 5, 2007 - As the record-holder
for the most successful identity and access management (IAM) implementations
in healthcare, Sentillion today reported having over 221,000 caregivers
live on its solutions. Sentillion provides identity
and access management solutions to the healthcare industry, including single sign-on (SSO), single patient selection (SPS), user provisioning,
strong authentication, privacy management and remote access. In 2006
alone, Sentillion brought more than 69,000 caregivers live as it completed
successful implementations at Memorial Healthcare, Newton-Wellesley
Hospital, Pepin Heart Hospital, Sisters of Mercy Health System, Tenet Healthcare
and the University of Michigan Health System, along with many others.
“This year, we saw a real urgency by healthcare organizations to
get their CPOE systems implemented and they turned to us to help them overcome
the inherent challenges associated with HIS deployments such as physician
adoption, caregiver workflow and security,” said Robert Seliger,
CEO of Sentillion. “We not only introduced new features and functionality
into our existing products to facilitate caregiver adoption, but we also
introduced an entirely new approach to connecting remote workforces to the
enterprise in order to enable organizations to securely, easily, and cost-effectively
extend the reach of their IT system beyond their physical networks.”
Sentillion noted that 2006 was a banner year for the company as it brought
to market new and innovative products along with new features and functionality
in its core product suite.
New Technologies Introduced in 2006
- vThere™ for Remote Access: Sentillion also continued
its track record of innovating new technology solutions to address the
identity and access management needs of hospitals. vThere™ is
a packaged desktop virtualization solution, which enables users to run
a contained, controlled and fully functional corporate software environment
in a virtualized desktop on computers in off-campus venues such as a home
or physician’s office.
- SignOn Manager Platform 4.1: The SignOn Manager Platform
4.1 extends the existing flexible, scalable and fault-tolerant
architecture to include new features for the centralized administration
and automated synchronization of primary and disaster recovery systems.
Prior to 4.1, the SignOn Manager Platform provided redundancy capabilities
that enabled a high-degree of fault tolerance. Now, with 4.1, the Platform
can be deployed across data centers so that they are immune to site-wide
catastrophic failures such as power outages or network outages. The result
is a seamless capability to maintain mission critical capabilities such
as single sign on, single patient selection, and centralized patient record
access auditing even in the event of a data center-wide outage.
- Five 9s Uptime: On average, Sentillion’s customer
uptime tracks at 99.999% or better, which includes downtime for any reason,
even if it is unrelated to Sentillion systems.
With solutions purpose-built for the unique workflow needs of caregivers,
Sentillion’s technology can be found in hospitals, clinics, and academic
medical centers. Sentillion, who was the first single sign-on
vendor to be recognized by KLAS™ Enterprises, was also named to the
research firm’s 2006 Best in KLAS Top 20 Report Card and heralded
by its own customers for its ability to deploy quickly and 100% within budget.
“We routinely hear from our customers that the top reasons they select
us is because of our experience in the space, the maturity of product offerings,
and the value we deliver in terms of cost and caregiver satisfaction,” said
Nancy Ham, president of Sentillion. “We also have, as is evident
by the fact that 62% of Sentillion’s customers surveyed for the KLAS
Report Card were healthcare organizations over 500 beds, a unique and proven
expertise of working with mid-to-large healthcare organizations.”
