NORTON HEALTHCARE DEPLOYS SENTILLION’S VERGENCE SOLUTION TO PROVIDE SECURE IDENTITY AND ACCESS MANAGEMENT TO 9,700 USERS
Louisville, KY-based Regional Health Care Network Simplifies User Experience with Single Sign-On To Multiple Applications While Maintaining Secure Environment for Patient Information
ANDOVER, MA – September 9, 2008 – Norton Healthcare, Kentucky’s largest health care system with more than 50 locations in and around Louisville, has gone live with Sentillion’s Vergence® solution for single sign-on (SSO). Norton is deploying Vergence to its approximately 9,700 information systems users throughout the organization and unifying a wide variety of applications including MEDITECH, McKesson PACS, Kronos and Lawson.
“Providing a secure single sign-on capability for our clinical and administrative workers delivers a huge productivity benefit, since most people routinely use between three and six applications,” said Joseph DeVenuto, vice president of information systems and CIO of Norton Healthcare. “Vergence enables us to improve the user experience while maintaining a secure environment for patient information.”
DeVenuto said one of the most compelling benefits of Vergence is the ability it affords Norton to build “bridges” easily to current and future clinical and administrative applications, so as Norton’s information systems infrastructure evolves, the single sign-on solution keeps pace. Vergence Bridges provide a flexible, extensible and uniform mechanism for interfacing to applications in order to achieve single sign-on, context management, or user account provisioning.
Sentillion’s identity and access management solutions are the most widely deployed in health care and are used daily by more than 350,000 caregivers in 644 hospitals across North America and the United Kingdom, including Eisenhower Medical Center, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Sisters of Mercy Health System, Sharp HealthCare and Texas Children’s Hospital. Sentillion’s patent portfolio includes patents issued in the U.S. and in the E.U.
